Two arrested on drugs and weapons charges following warrant attempt

MARYDEL, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested two suspects after they found drugs and a weapon during a warrant attempt Thursday afternoon.

At around 4:15 p.m., members of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force and Probation and Parole responded to a home in the 300 block of Grygo Road in Marydel, for a warrant attempt involving 31-year-old Amanda Husfelt.

Officials say Husfelt had been stopped by troopers earlier in the day for a traffic violation, during which she provided a false name. When police arrived at the home, they also found Husfelt’s boyfriend, 35-year-old Quioly Demby, who was wanted on probation.

A search warrant was executed at the home, leading to the discovery of one 380 ammunition round, 165 bags of heroin (approx. 1.155 grams), and a Walther PK 380 handgun.

Husfelt was arrested on several drug, weapons, and traffic related charges, and was committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $19,002 secured bond.

Demby also faces several drug and weapons charges and is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $65,000 secured bond.
