Somerset County Sheriff’s Office moves into new home

WESTOVER, Md. –  Somerset County Sheriff’s Department is getting used to their new home, that’s roughly four times bigger than their old one.

They moved into this space about six months ago and we’re told it’s already been a big hit with all the deputies. With this new department, they have two holding cells, instead of one.

Plus, Somerset County’s Sheriff Ronnie Howard says they’re growing, so more space was needed. “Its a lot more rooms, the deputies were all cluttered in one room, deputies, officer, and now they can all have their own separate offices. Definitely a big step forward,” Sheriff Howard states.

We’re also told there is also more room for them to expand.
