(4) Salisbury women’s lacrosse stifles (3) Mary Washington in second half

SALISBURY, Md.- After being tied at seven a piece at halftime, the (4) Salisbury women’s lacrosse team shutout (3) Mary Washington in the second half to score the 11-7 win.

In the battle of top-five teams, and Capital Athletic Conference heavyweights, Salisbury’s defense was the difference maker, shutting the door on any scoring chance in the final 30 minutes.

On the offensive side, Eagles’ Julia Albert scored a game-high four goals, while for SU, Gabby Mongno led the way with a hat trick.

Following Mongo was Gianna Demato with two goals, and Lindsey Wagner who had a goal and two assists.

In net for the Gulls, Syke Graham came up with five saves, and for UMW, Hanna Ashby was tough to beat all night, saving eight.

With the win, Salisbury moves to 5-2 on the year against ranked opponents, 9-2 overall.
