Prince Street Elementary is “feeling the beat”

SALISBURY, Md. – At Prince Street Elementary School some of the students are feeling the beat and it’s helping them improve their work.
The Rhythm and Roots after-school program started in February and allows students to play the drums and buckets.
We’re told it gives them a release from their normal stresses, but also allows them to explore their musical creativity.
The students performed Friday at a school event and tell us, there’s just something about the beat that makes them happy.

“We get to chill out with our friends and sometimes we get the beat, like the beat is so awesome that I get in the mood,” said Nesthaline Charles, one of the group members.

The rhythm and roots team tells us they have dreams of performing at 3rd Friday one day. They also want to raise more funding to help expand their program. For more information on how you can help, you can visit Prince Street Elementary’s Facebook page here. https://www.facebook.com/wcboepse/
