UPDATE: Man dies from injuries sustained in early morning shooting

4/2 UPDATE: Dover Police say the victim in a shooting incident that happened early Saturday morning has died as a result of his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Tyrone Sampson. The incident remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact Dover Police at 302-736-7111 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-888-TIP-3333.

DOVER, Del. – Police say one man is in critical condition after he was shot in his upper body early Saturday morning.

According to police reports, the shooting happened at approximately 3:50 a.m. in the area of the Unit Block of Weston Drive.

Officers from the Dover Police Department responded to the scene after reports of gunshots were heard.

Upon arrival, officers say they found a 35-year-old Dover man with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7111.

Callers may remain anonymous; a cash reward of up to $1,000 is possible for information leading to an arrest.
