Ocean View Police arrest wanted Del. man

OCEAN VIEW, Del. – Officers from the Ocean View Police Department arrested a man on Friday who they say was wanted in both Delaware and Florida.

32-year-old Paul Owen of Ocean View was wanted in Delaware for failure to appear in Sussex County Superior Court in August 2018 on third offense DUI, resisting arrest, and failure to have a driver’s license. These charges stemmed from a traffic stop on May 25th, 2018.

Shortly after taking Owen into custody, it was learned that he was wanted out of Escambia County, Florida on suspicion of committing a home invasion robbery back on October 11th, 2017. During the incident, Owen allegedly assaulted the homeowner and stole multiple firearms while armed with a shotgun and wearing a mask.

Owen is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $9,000 secured cash bond. In addition, a detainer was filed by authorities in Florida for home invasion robbery (armed), use of a firearm during a felony, five counts of theft of a firearm, aggravated assault, and committing a felony while wearing a mask.

Following the adjudication of his Delaware charges, Owen will be extradited to Florida.
