OC officials prepare for St. Patrick’s Day parade, thousands expected to attend
OCEAN CITY, Md. – In Ocean City, town officials are getting ready to kick off the spring season with their annual St Patrick’s Day parade.Officials tell 47 more than 100,000 people are expected to attend the festival, and say it’s the second largest parade in Maryland. They add that you can expect to see a sea of green Saturday, where people can enjoy popular food, music, and drinks. And while the festival will be celebrated by many, town officials want you to be prepared for some heavy traffic.
“You do want to make plans to get there early because traffic will be heavy, southbound lanes will be closed as early as 9 or 10 o’clock so that the parade participants can set up but its such a great time, it’s a great family event, it’s a great fun thing to do with your friends,” said Jessica Waters.
Officials add that the parade will begin at 12 on 57th Street and marches will continue south on Coastal Highway to the 45th Street Shopping Center.
