OC creates parking task force to improve parking issues

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Ocean City is trying to keep up with the amount of tourists they see each summer and now have created a brand new task force aimed at improving parking.

On Wednesday, the parking task force made up of community members and local residential property owners met for the first time. The town says parking has been a topic among their strategic planning for many years and they believe this task force can see if anything else needs to be done.

OC Communications Director, Jessica Waters says, “Ultimately, Ocean City is a tourist-based community. We rely on people to come in and we want to welcome them and we really just want to see how paid parking, whether the one we have or exploring something else is right thing or if it’s not.”

There are three additional meetings scheduled and by the end of those, they hope to have an idea on how to improve parking in the area.
