New specialty shops opening in downtown Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – New businesses are getting a step closer to opening up their shops to customers, shops that you won’t find anywhere else.

Lurking Class Skate Shop is one of them, it’s a business that’s just putting on the finishing touches at a new location. The other is Kaiju Records shop, another one of a kind place that sells vinyls you can’t get at a department store.

City officials say these small town shops are playing a big role in bringing life and flare to downtown Salisbury.

“Records have always been a passion of myself and my husbands and with the revitalization of downtown we felt like it was something that was needed in every small town. That’s what we do we go out of town we find the little independent record stores and support them so we felt Salisbury needed one as well,” Bret Roberts, owner of Kaiju Records.

Lurking Class Skate Shop is located at 237 West Main Street right on the plaza and ready for business. Kaiju Records is also on the plaza, but is still a couple weeks away from opening its doors. They’re hoping to have everything ready by the next 3rd Friday.
