New breakfast cafe coming to downtown Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – If you’re a breakfast fan, this new cafe might be your new favorite. A new restaurant called the Mad Hatter is coming to where Riverwalk Cafe used to be on Fitzwater Street.

We’re told the Mad Hatter will take a different approach on some of everyone’s favorite breakfast items. There will be healthier options as well as a lot of vegan and gluten free options including eggplant bacon. They will also be making gluten free and vegan noodle bowls at lunchtime in addition to sandwiches and soups.

They also have a partnership with Ugly Pie, who will be making special biscuits just for the cafe.

“We’ve always been big supporters of downtown. We have the Rabbit Hole, the local grocery store on the other end of Main Street and we’re just trying to get inside the re-vibration of the downtown community,” explains Daniel Mears, owner of Mad Hatter.

The Mad Hatter Cafe is set to open in April of this year and they’ll be open from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. so they can catch everyone before they head to work.

We’re told they will also be hosting communal tea party once a week as well as pop up dinners.
