Md. General Assembly votes to override Hogan’s $15 minimum wage veto

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Maryland legislature voted on Thursday to override Governor Hogan’s veto of legislation that would increase the state’s minimum wage to $15 by the year 2025.

The increase would be gradual, starting with an increase to $11 per hour in 2020. Minimum wage would then increase by 75 cents per year, with a goal of hitting $14 in 2024 before reaching $15 the following year.

Companies with less than 15 employees, however, would have until July 2026 to reach the $15 per hour mark.
