Lady Jags fall to Coppin Academy, Golden Eagles move on to semi finals
PRINCESS ANNE, Md.- In their first year under head coach Ron Knox, the Washington girls basketball team hosted the regional finals. The Lady Jags fell to the Golden Eagles 76-48.
It was all Coppin from the jump, the Golden Eagles going on a 12-2 run in the first 2 minutes of the game. Washington was able to knock down 6 of 11 free throws in the first quarter before Dez’Miya Ireland hit the Jags first field goal of the game in the second quarter.
Coppin Academy took a 41-16 lead at the half a kept up their domination through the second half. The Golden Eagles took their regional matchup with the Jags 76-48 and will play in the semifinals at Towson University.
The Jaguars finished their season with a 19-6 record in their first year under head coach Ron Knox with a majority of their team returning next season.
