Hundreds of items to go to HALO

SALISBURY, Md. –   One organization with benefit tremendously following an annual event at the Youth and Civic Center.

Over 100 families offered old children’s toys and clothes at the annual consignment sale, held by Coastal Kids, with the leftover items marked for donation going to the organization HALO in Salisbury.

The organization that put this on, has worked with other places in the past, including Life Crisis Center, Eastern Shore Pregnancy Center and the Holly Center.

It’s an event to help local parents and to help this vital organization.

“It’s not just clothing items, its clothing, it’s toys, baby gear. It can help a family tremendously if they walk out with nothing. So HALO does great work with the community and we try to assist by getting them what they need,” said Vicki Burnes, the event organizer.

A similar event is coming to Talbot County in mid-May. Coastal Kids says they are still looking for a charity to partner with for that event.
