HALO receives $8K grant to better support children in need

SALISBURY, Md. – The HALO organization on Friday received thousands of dollars in funding to help members better serve children in need.

The non-profit is in desperate need to change rugs at their facility near South Boulevard in Salisbury and that is why the $8,000 dollars grant from TCC Salisbury is crucial.

According to the HALO Executive Director Celeste Savage, leaks in the past have left their rugs in bad shape, especially in one room where over a hundred kids play and crawl everywhere during the summer.

Savage said they did not have enough funding until now to get the job done.

“Prior to us getting the building we discovered that there had been some water damage in that room so we had it cleaned,” said Savage, “We just really want to replace it with tile carpets.”

Members of the HALO organization hope to have the rugs ready to go before the start of the summer.
