Gov. Carney delivers Meals on Wheels to seniors in Sussex County

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Seniors in Sussex county got an extra special surprise on Thursday, a visit from the governor.

We’re told Governor John Carney teamed up with the CHEER organization and went door to door delivering meals to seniors in need.

Meals on wheels is a food delivery service for seniors lacking mobility or who are home-bound.

Governor Carney tells 47 ABC he was happy to bring a little sunshine to seniors on a rainy day.

He said,”It’s just a good opportunity for me to see what the CHEER center is doing and the seniors that they’re proving great service to. It makes you feel good, they give you that look like ‘aren’t you the Governor?’ So it’s a little different in that respect.”
