Eastern Shore Mission of Mercy seeks volunteers

SALISBURY, Md. – In just three weeks, the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center will be packed for Eastern Shore’s Mission of Mercy.

The free adult dental clinic helps over 2,000 adults get dental care. During the event, over 100 portable dental units take over the floor of the civic center and offer dental cleanings, simple extractions, and even restorations.

As always, though, volunteers are needed to help pull off the event since every time they hold the clinic, they see more and more adults.

Mission of Mercy’s Dental, Dr. Rowland Holsinger says, “You need lots of volunteers both dental volunteers, dental assistants, dental hygienists, community volunteers because the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center lets us use the entire facility, patients are escorted everywhere, so we need basically as many general volunteers as we need dental volunteers.”

Mission of Mercy will take place April 5-6 from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. The event is open to anyone over 18 years old.
