DSU softball drops home opener; earns split in doubleheader with Fairfield (CT)
DOVER, DEL- The Delaware State softball team dropped their 2019 home opener on Wednesday, falling 9-2 against Fairfiel
d (CT).
UMBC transfer Brianna Baker got the start for DSU, allowing 9 hits and 5 earned runs in 3 1/3 innings. Alexis Roberson led the Hornets at the plate, registering two hits (2B), and driving in one run. Jordan Casey had the other RBI, along with one hit. Jaelyn Baker also registered one hit and scored one run.
The Hornets would edge out the Stags in game two of the doubleheader 2-1, with junior pitcher Alexis Goldsby recording the win.
