MILLSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police are asking for the public’s help in their search for a man who is wanted in connection with a domestic incident.

Just after 8:30 PM on February 26th, troopers responded to Oak Orchard Road for a reported verbal domestic incident that turned physical. When police arrived, they learned that 47-year-old Justin Shifflett assaulted his 48-year-old wife by grabbing her throat and striking her face. When the victim tried to call 9-1-1, Shifflett allegedly smacked the phone out of her hand to prevent her from calling, then stole her vehicle and fled from the residence.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries but refused treatment.

Troopers have been unable to locate Shifflett, who they say has active warrants out of Troop 4 for strangulation, third degree assault, and malicious interference with emergency communications.

Anyone that may have information on Shifflett’s whereabouts is urged to contact Troop 4 at 302-856-5850 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
