Delmarva celebrates International Women’s Day

SALISBURY, Md. – Around the world people are celebrating International Women’s Day, and here on Delmarva 47ABC is spotlighting an influential woman who is leading in the community.

47ABC met up with Salisbury Police Chief Barbara Duncan who said this celebration is a chance to showcase the many talents women have. Duncan said women should continue educating themselves and focus on doing good.

Duncan also thanks her supportive team at the police department for helping her grow along the way.

“If you’re driven to educate yourself on your particular passion and you feel you can positively contribute to in today’s society as long as you keep making strides in that direction and educating yourself you’re going to reach your goal,” said Duncan.

The police chief also said women need to continue to push for their goals and empower each other.
