Delaware Symphony Orchestra launches ‘Access for All’ in Sussex County

LEWES, Del. – The Delaware Symphony Orchestra kicked off its ‘Access for All Campaign’ at its annual concert in Lewes on Sunday.

The campaign is part of the orchestra’s music outreach to the Latino community in Sussex County.

The Executive Director of the Delaware Symphony Orchestra Alan Jordan said he wants to break barriers from family traditions that discourage different audiences from enjoying orchestral music. That is why they will be offering complimentary tickets among other things to attract even more people to their concerts.

“They don’t have that sense that it’s something for them and our position is that the music that we present should be available for everybody, and so we’ve started a new initiative called Access for All,” said Jordan.

Jordan said that as part of the ‘Access for All’ initiative, one of the musical performers at the Delaware Symphony Orchestra is Venezuelan.
