Del. teen arrested on attempted robbery charges

SELBYVILLE, Del. – Delaware State Police say a Georgetown teen has been charged with attempted robbery after they responded to an altercation Wednesday evening.

Police were called to respond to a residence in the 38000 block of Wilson Avenue in Selbyville at around 5:20 p.m. for a reported robbery. On arrival, a 15-year-old resident told police that that the suspect, 18-year-old Emner Morales Garcia entered the home uninvited in an attempt to collect money that he said was owed to him.

He then allegedly pointed a handgun at the 15-year-old, initiating an altercation. When a 20-year-old male resident inside the house went to see what was going on, Garcia pointed the handgun at him.

The 15-year-old sustained minor injuries as a result of the altercation. The 20-year-old was not injured.

Garcia fled the residence before police arrived, but later turned himself in at Troop 4. Police located a pellet gun inside his vehicle when he turned himself in. Garcia was subsequently charged with first degree attempt to commit robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, two counts of aggravated menacing, and two counts of third degree assault.

Garcia was released on $41,200 unsecured bond.
