DART looking for resident input for route changes

GEORGETOWN, Del. –  DART asked their riders to bring their opinions to help craft new bus routes Thursday afternoon at the Georgetown Library.

The public meeting is the result of a request for changes along route 215, which runs from Rehoboth to Millsboro.

Officials say that they’ve been thinking about making some tweaks, but were surprised to learn that a lot of people who work in the area live in the western part of the county, and use their service.

The mayor of Milton who was there tonight says that a lot of jobs in the Milford, Lewes and Rehoboth Beach areas have caused a boom in Milton, Ellendale and Lincoln.

“We have got to define the demand. These type of meetings are what we need to hear where do we need to find those critical masses of where people are starting their trips, and those critical masses of where are they trying to get to,” said Cathy Smith, the planning manager for DART First State.

This was the last official meeting, but you can still lend your voice to the discussion.

Either log on to their website, and leave a comment. Or you can call 302-652-DART.
