Crisfield advances to regionals; down Cambridge in 1A East Section II final

CRISFIELD, Md.-  Behidn a game high 23 points from Justin Cohen along with Christian Crawford’s 21, the Crisfield Crabbers took home the 69-49 win over Cambridge. The Vikings finish their season with the Bayside north’s second best record of 15-4.

The Crabbers opened up the game on a 6-0 run behind two 3’s from Christian Crawford. Midway through the first quarter, the Vikings would go on a run go their own taking a 9-8 lead. After a Crisfield time out, the Crabbers would catch fire and take the 22-12 lead to end the opening quarter. The Crabber 10 point lead would remain the same going into the halftime break as Tranell Clanton ends the quarter with a buzzer beating lay up. Crawford would lead all scorers with 15 points. Davion Ralph led the Vikings with 7.

The third quarter would be a good one for CSD as they would come within four with just under a minute to play in the quarter. Big 8 minutes for Tranell Clanton and Malik Ennals, combining for 12 of the Vikings 15 points. Crabbers starting the fourth quarter with the 8 point lead would open up the game and go on a 17-0 run. Justin Cohen would come alive with 13 points in the final quarter along with 7 from Rykell Waters as the Crabbers close out the game with a 20 point lead.

Cohen led all scorers in the end with 23 points, Christian Crawford pitched in 21 for a close second as the two combined for seven 3’s. Rykell Waters rounded out the Crabbers top scorers with 14 points of his own.

Malik Ennals led the Vikings with 12 points along with 11 points from  Davion Ralph while Travel Clanton rounded out the Vikings scorers with 10.

Crisfield will take the 162 mile trip to undefeated Havre De Grace in the 1A East regional final on Friday.
