Committee holds public meeting to decide future of former Milford Middle School

MILFORD, Del. – Residents in Milford came out to discuss building an additional school for students in the area. It was a packed house inside the Milford Central Academy as residents and community leaders held a public meeting to talk about the future of the former middle school, located on Lakeview Avenue. Officials tell us the former school closed in 2013 and has remained vacant for the past five years. And now the community is trying to bring it back to life, and create another place for students to learn.

“It’s feasible to discuss it as a middle school, it’s feasible to look at it as a elementary school, it probably couldn’t be a high school, but again these are just feasibility studies you know what would it take rehabbig it is considerably less costly than putting up a brand new building,” said Milford resident Joyce Nauman.

Officials add that the next meeting for the public to attend will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd at PM over at the Milford Central Academy
