Bennett boys drop in 3A East Section II Final to Northeast (AA)

SALISBURY, Md.- Jaylin Albury would be the man of the night for (3) Northeast, dropping in the game-winning layup with 1.7 seconds to go to sink (1) James M. Bennett on Wednesday night, 61-59.

Northeast (AA) would have the lead for a majority of the game, but a late run from Bennett in the fourth quarter would have both teams jostling for position.

Down A pair of Shayne Powell and Jordan Williams free throws would give the Clippers a one-point lead, twice, within the final 1:35 of the game.

But, Albury, who finished the night with 10 points, would make his most important two count, putting back his own miss with seconds to go to send the Eagles into the regional final.

For James M. Bennett in their final game of the 2018-19 season, SaQuan Cotton lead the way with 15 points, followed Antwuan Armstrong with 11 and Jordan Williams with 10.
