Snow Hill looking for a new police chief

SNOW HILL, Md. – The Town of Snow Hill is looking for a new police chief.

Police Chief Tom Davis recently decided to resign. His last day of duty will be on February 10th.

Town officials tell us they want a working chief who is an active member of law enforcement and is familiar with duties and patrols.

They tell us the next chief will be responsible for managing five officers, and one administrative aide position.

Candidates for the position must have a valid drivers license, good communication skills, law enforcement management experience and must be certified in Maryland.

Interim Mayor of Snow Hill, Stephen Mathews said, “We would also want them to be Maryland certified because this is a working chiefs position, and so they have to be able to have arrest powers and write reports.”

Snow Hill offers a full benefit package including Maryland State Retirement and paid employee healthcare.

If you’re interested in applying, resumes will be accepted until February 22nd.

Resumes must be submitted to: Kelly Pruitt, Town Manager, P.O. Box 348, Snow Hill, Maryland 21863 or via e-mail at kpruitt@snowhillmd.com.
