Snow Hill holds off a late Warrior run, sweeps Pocomoke on the year

SNOW HILL, Md.-  After taking an overtime thriller 93-88 last month in Pocomoke, Snow Hill took down Pocomoke tonight with the 69-61 win. The Eagles moved to 12-10 on the year while the loss drops the Warriors to 1-19.

Still looking for their first Bayside victory of the season, the Warriors came out hot jumping out to a 8-0 lead midway through the first quarter. The Eagles would end the opening quarter with a 17-3 run and take a 27-22 lead at the half. Zaire Johnson and Jay Ayers led the way for the Eagles with 11 points each. Charles Finney led Pocomoke with 8 points.

The Eagles would come out of the half with a 11-0 run with turnover after turnover ending the third quarter up 48-31. Headed into the final quarter, the Eagles had all the momentum until a technical foul slowed the game. Pocomoke would go on a run of their own cutting the Eagle lead to 7 with just under 2 minutes to play. Made foul shots by Snow Hill and missed shots by the Warriors ended that comeback hope as Snow Hill came away with the 8 point win.

Zyaire Johnson led all scorers with 24 points, Jay Ayers pitched in 14 and Shiquan Williams rounded out the Eagles scorers with 11.

Charles Finney dropped a team high 21 while Nigel Houston pitched in 13 points and Colby Speta rounded out the Pocomoke scoring with 10.
