SHA working on two phase bridge project in Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – Construction is already underway on Route 13 by the Riverwalk Amphitheater. It’s a two phase bridge project that SHA is currently doing work on.

The first part was taking down the billboards and now it’s replacing the bridge over the Wicomico River. It’s a project that won’t be completed for about two years due to utility companies having to move their equipment to make way for the new bridge.

But for the first phase, “Construction is actually ahead of schedule. Right now we were projected to finish in about the middle of July but if all goes well right now we’re actually pushing to finish this by Memorial Day,” explains Brett Deane, SHA District Engineer.

During construction, one lane closures will take place daily and in mid-April there will be a one time night time full closure.
