Salisbury University announces plans for new student housing complex

SALISBURY, Md. –  Salisbury University just announced they will be breaking ground on a new student housing complex that will become the largest facility in campus history.

The $80 million 750-bed complex will be built at the former Court Plaza Shopping Center and Temple Hill Motel sites on Route 13.

We’re told this project started two years ago when this space became available and they realized that housing issues needed to be addressed.

Jason Curtin, VP of Advancement & External Affairs says they are excited to attract new students, “What are the current trends, what are the future trends that students need so student housing evolves just like students evolve and so we are catering to that and we’ll be a nice showcase for students and for future students for years to come.”

This new housing complex is made up of three separate buildings and the first building is expected to open up in 2021.

Once this new complex is built, we’re told SU will eventually close Chesapeake and Saint Martins halls and then Dogwood Village.
