Salisbury teen arrested, two others questioned in Super Pet theft
SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury City Police say a 17-year-old has been arrested, and two 19-year-olds are being questioned after a dog was stolen from the Salisbury Super Pet Sunday evening.
Officers responded to the business, located at 329 Civic Avenue, at around 5 PM Sunday for a reported theft. Store employees told police that the suspects fled the store on foot after stealing a dog from one of the kennels.
Further investigation revealed that a 17-year-old male and two 19-year-old females entered the store and began looking around. The two females reportedly began distracting the store employees while the male took a white and brown Jack Russell Terrier from its kennel and fled the store with the dog. The females then also fled the store on foot.
Officers were later able to identify all subjects involved and took the 17-year-old into custody during the late evening hours, who was then processed at the Salisbury Police Department and released to a guardian. The 19-year-old females have also been identified and the investigation into their involvement is ongoing.
Officers were also able to locate and recover the stolen dog, who was reportedly found to be unharmed. The dog has been returned to the Super Pet.
This incident remains under investigation, and anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 833-SBY-CITY.
