Salisbury city council adopts 2020 Capital Improvement Plan
SALISBURY, Md. – At Monday night’s city council meeting, the Salisbury city council voted to adopt the the city’s 2020-2024 capital improvement plan. The plan, that’s been developed over past couple of years is a tool that allows officials to plan how, when, and where future improvements should be made.
Mayor Jake Day who’s worked closely on the capital improvement plan says although the council is officially adopting it nothing is set in stone. He says the plan is flexible, and simply provides a better guideline for officials to follow as they plan to further develop the city.
“There’s maybe a 8% or 10% more than we would like to spend year after year so there a few things that we cut and moved and shift to future years but it gives us a really good sense of what’s likely to be purchased,” said Day.
Day says that the adoption of the capital improvement plan is right on time as the city gets ready to prepare for it’s upcoming fiscal year budget. He adds that budget meetings will begin starting this Friday.
