UPDATE: Police say man found dead after stabbing wife multiple times

LINCOLN, Del. – Delaware State Police say a heated argument between a wife and a husband led to a stabbing at a neighborhood in Lincoln on Saturday night.

Police later discovered a dead body at a nearby park. Now an investigation is underway.

“I was taking my kids out to eat some Chinese food and on our way coming back home we see a chopper and cops, but I wasn’t really sure what was going on, and my son goes, you sure it wasn’t David again?,” said Jose Morales, a neighbor.

Police have identified the suspect as 39-year-old David Galarza-Burgos. Galarza-Burgos reportedly stabbed his wife multiple times.

The man with that information claims to be the suspect’s cousin.

“He was a little abusive of her, and that’s what I heard,” said Morales.

“Behind doors I really don’t know what goes on, and I try not to get involved in relationships because you always come out losing, but this went too far,” said Morales.

Morales claims his cousin David was the man behind the stabbing. He said he was a heavy drinker and a jealous husband.

“I learned about this like at 12 at night and living at a couple of houses from him,” said Morales.

“I didn’t know what was going on and none of the neighbors knew what was going on,” said Morales.

Another neighbor said she also had a similar account of his actions.

“I know he would hit her,” said Julia, a neighbor.

“I’m not sure what exactly happened, but I wasn’t surprised to see police there… I just said, ‘Oh, they’re just having another problem,'” said Julia.

Police say the suspect fled the scene before they arrived and was later found dead at a park near the area Saturday. An autopsy is expected to reveal the manner and cause of the death.

“I’m not sure how badly the woman was injured, and I hope she recovers for her girls,” said Julia.

“We never met, but as her neighbors we wish her the best,” Julia said.

The wife is reportedly in stable condition, and this incident is still under investigation.
