Officials report sunken boat in Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Officials tell us that a small boat has sunk in the White Marlin Marina at the inlet in Ocean City.

We’re told the incident happened just before 2 PM today. Officials say it was a 33 foot cabin cruiser recreational boat, and may have been the only boat in the marina at the time of the incident.

The Ocean City Coast Guard and the Department of Natural Resources responded to the scene, as well as local fire officials. There is reportedly a thin layer of gas on top of the water near the boat, however, officials were unable to remove the gas from the water due to the fact that it was a small amount.

The Coast Guard says they know who the owner is and are currently trying to contact them.
