Ocean City denied new decision in Dumser’s case

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The iconic Dumser’s location on the Ocean City boardwalk will stay for now.

The court once again sided with the Rapoport family earlier this week saying they are the rightful owners of the ice cream shop.

According to the court, the town did not show enough evidence to prove they owned the building.

Back in December, the town filed a motion asking the court to reconsider their decision, but it looks like Dumser’s is here to stay.

Boardwalk visitors said they are ecstatic with the recent court decision.

“I truly believe that Dumser’s has been a mainstay on the boardwalk, and I think they have every right to be here, and I really do not like Ocean City trying to interfere,” said Teresa Kruszczynski, a Berlin resident.

Visitors also said Dumser’s on the boardwalk is a piece of history, and they do not want to see it leave Ocean City.
