Millville, Delaware Comprehensive Plan in final stages
MILLVILLE, Del. – The town of Millville is working on drafting its new Comprehensive Plan.
In the plan, one of the hot button issues they plan to tackle is the substantial growth in town population.
Since 2000, the town’s population has increased six times over according to Census Bureau Data.
Because of that dense growth in population, the town sent out survey questions looking for public input on the growth that people say has gotten out of hand.
One long-time resident Cynthia Whitfield said, “Its unbelievable! Being a resident for 48 years and seeing the traffic, it’s like road rage! It’s like where I was in north Wilmington.”
Town Clerk Matt Amerling said, “We received a little over 450 surveys back from property owners. That data going to help draft this plan and show the goals and recommendations.”
After reviewing that survey data, we learned that the major concern of residents in regard to the large population was transportation since right now there is none.
They suggested the town introduce transportation from the beach to the coastal town.
The town also couldn’t give us an exact timeline of when residents will be able to see and review this plan, but they said sometime mid-March they will share the first draft with the public.
