Milford man arrested on strangulation and other charges following altercation
MILFORD, Del. – Milford Police have arrested a man after he reportedly became physical and held a victim against their will during an altercation.
An officer was on patrol in the unit block of McColley Street on February 12th when they heard a person screaming in distress nearby. The officer located 32-year-old Ricky Ness holding a victim against a parked vehicle.
Further investigation led police to learn that prior to the officer’s arrival, Ness and the victim were together when the victim became uncomfortable with Ness’ behavior. The victim tried to flee a shed they were both in together when Ness reportedly tried to prevent the victim from escaping. When the victim successfully escaped, Ness pushed her against the vehicle while holding her neck, resulting in the victim struggling to breathe.
Ness also allegedly made threats to harm an officer and the victim while in custody.
Ness was charged with strangulation, unlawful imprisonment second degree, two counts of terroristic threatening, resisting arrest, offensive touching, and criminal trespass third degree. He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $9,501 secured bond.
