Man arrested for breaking into home, eating food
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police arrested a man who reportedly broke into a Dover home over the weekend.
Officials say that sometime between 6:30 PM Friday and 9:06 AM Saturday, 31-year-old Thomas Jenkins broke into a home in the 600 block of Pear Street while no one was home. Jenkins then allegedly consumed food items belonging to the homeowner, then fled on foot when the homeowner returned Saturday morning.
Jenkins was apprehended near the Wesley College football field shortly after the incident was reported.
Jenkins was charged with second degree burglary, theft under $1,500, and criminal mischief under $1,000. He was later released on his own recognizance.
