Lady Hawks start cold, falter on the road at Delaware State

DOVER, DEL.- The Delaware State women’s basketball team scored a huge conference upset on Saturday afternoon, handing Maryland Eastern Shore just their 3rd conference loss of the year, 65-62 at Memorial Hall in Dover.

DSU junior Lanayjha Ashe finished with a team-high 21 points, while teammate Najai Pollard finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds on the day.

For the Hawks, Cyani Byrom (24 points) and Rajean Martin (16 points) we’re the only players in double figures scoring. Maryland Eastern Shore shot 7 for 30 combined in the first and fourth quarters, in which they were outscored a total of 10 points.
