Kent Island pushes WiHi to OT; Indians survive 90-83

WiHi tops Kent Island

STEVENSVILLE, Md. – Kent Island would trail WiHi 34-17 at the end of the first quarter but the Buccaneers would turn up the heat before the end of the half trailing 48-39.

In the second half, the Bucs would tighten the gap even further thanks to a monstrous quarter by TaQuan Courtney who finished with a game high 32 points. Heading into the fourth, Kent Island would trail 65-59 but would tie the game at 77-77 with 50 seconds to play.

A Jaden Baker lay up would put the Indians ahead 79-77 with 40 seconds left in regulation. The Bucs would turn to their point guard, Cole Kratovil, who delivered when it mattered most. Kratovil hit a soft floater deep in the lane to knot the game at 79-79 and eventually sending it into overtime.

In OT, the extra period belonged to the Indians and Dorian Stevens who scored the teams first seven points. WiHi would go onto top Kent Island with a final of 90-83.
