IRSD making $7 million worth of energy saving upgrades

SELBYVILLE, Md. –  In Delaware, the Indian River School District is making $7 million worth of  changes and improvements to their schools and classrooms.

The school district has partnered with Seiberlich Trane Energy Services to improve lighting in classrooms and parking lots, upgrade the HVAC, and improve building controls.

The millions of dollars worth of fixes will also lower their environmental footprint and save them money without burdening taxpayers.

“This project is at no cost to our tax payers it’s actually going to save us millions of dollars over a period of time and that’s exciting to us,” explains Jay Owens, IRSD Asst. Superintendent.

The district hopes to save on these upgrades and ultimately pay for others in the future.
