Heating assistance available for Delaware customers
DELAWARE – While the colder wintry temperatures have taken a backseat winter isn’t over just yet.
With that, many Delawareans may struggle to keep up with their heating bill this time of year.
If you’re looking for a little help, you may be in luck.
The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services is teaming up with the Catholic Charities of Delaware to ensure that those in need are aware of the resources available.
The program is called “the low income home energy assistance program” or LIHEAP.
Some of the services include fuel assistance electric assistance and even summer cooling assistance.
Senator Carper said, “We have these wonderful resources that are available to people in need when it’s really cold and frankly when it’s really hot — we want to make sure they know about that and can access that assistance.”
