Gov. Hogan promotes “Clean Cars Act”
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Thursday Governor Larry Hogan gave a “Clean Cars Act” presentation highlighting the importance of converting to more environmentally-sound technology.
Joined by his wife Yumi Hogan, the governor test drove different fuel-cell technology cars outside the steps of Maryland’s State House.
Thursday’s test-drive highlighted new legislation that would double the original $3 million in funding toward awarding a tax credit to drivers who make the switch to electric cars.
Governor Hogan said, “We have legislation that will double the amount of money that were investing in electric vehicles and charging stations and to expand tax credits.”
The new legislation would call for $6 million to go toward the Electric Vehicle Tax Credit program that was given out and depleted this past November.
The tax credit will also apply to more makes and models this year.
