Expo helps local businesses on the Eastern Shore

WICOMICO CO., Md. – Thousands of people made their way to the annual Better Living Expo on Saturday at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center.

This event hosted by the Optimist Club of Salisbury brings out over a hundred businesses to show what they have to offer to the community.

According to the Chair of the Better Living Expo Mike Defiore, the expo is the club’s largest fundraiser and members hope to raise $30,000 dollars during the weekend to support programs at the club dedicated to serving children.

He said the expo also features live performers as well as animals from the Salisbury Zoo.

“The money we raise from this event goes directly back to the kids in the community,” said Defiore.

“We have wonderful programs, we have scholarships for all the high school seniors so one senior from each high school they get a scholarship from us,” said Defiore.

It costs $3 dollars per person to get into the Better Living Expo. The event will be open from 11 AM to 4 PM on Sunday.
