UPDATE: Police identify suspect in Valentine’s Day shooting
Delaware State Police say they identified 25-year-old Devon Emfinger as the suspect involved in a shooting in Harrington on Valentine’s Day.
According to reports, police responded to an apartment in the 8700 block of Park Brown Road in Harrington.
When they arrived, police reportedly found 24-year-old Donte Demunguia with a gunshot wound to his torso. The New Jersey man was taken to Milford Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Further investigation revealed at the time of the shooting a 24-year-old woman was home with an acquaintance, 25-year-old Devon Emfinger. While the resident and Emfinger were on the second floor of the apartment, police say the two heard someone come inside. That person was Demunguia, the resident’s ex-boyfriend.
Police say Demunguia was walking up the stairs when he was shot in the torso.
Emfinger turned himself in on Friday. He is charged with reckless endangering and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

HARRINGTON, Del. – Delaware State Police are currently leading an investigation into a homicide that happened Thursday night.
At around 11:40 PM, officers from the Harrington Police Department responded to an apartment in the 8700 block of Park Brown Road. When police arrived they found a 24-year-old male victim at the base of the interior staircase suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso.
The victim was taken to Milford Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Harrington Police Department then turned the investigation over to the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit.
Police confirm to 47ABC that this was a targeted shooting, and that there is no current threat to the public at this time.
