City of Salisbury elects newest council member

SALISBURY, Md. –  On Monday night, during the city council meeting, officials swore in Angela Blake as the next councilwoman for District 5. The addition comes after former council member Hardy Rudasill announced his resignation back in January. His last day was on January 31st. Since then, officials have been looking for the perfect fit for the vacant position which happened to be Blake. And she says she’s looking forward to bettering the city of Salisbury.

“I’m very interested in making sure that our parks and our zoo and that kind of thing is really maintained, and looking at development, smart growth, looking at how to manage that as we go forward,” Blake said.

Blake’s first official day as the newest councilwoman began on Monday and she says she’s looking forward to learning the ropes in her new position.
