The snow arrives tonight with increasing intensity late under cloudy skies and cold temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s. Snowfall amounts are spread out from up to 8 inches in Dorchester County to less than an inch in Accomack County. Snowfall totals of 3-6 inches are likely over Sussex, Wicomico, Somerset, Talbot, and Caroline Counties; in addition to southern portions of Queen Anne’s County in MD and Kent County in DE. Snow will be likely be the main precipitation form throughout the entire event from Kent County in DE to Dorchester County while Wicomico, Somerset and Sussex could see a mixture of sleet on Sunday. Accomack and Worcester Counties will see the best chances of rain mixing with the snow but also wind gusts up to 35 mph. Temperatures throughout Sunday will be in the low to mid 30s, as winds coming in from the northeast at 15 mph.
Sunday night will likely consist of all Delmarva concluding in the form of snow overnight; with eastern and southern areas starting the night off either with sleet or rain. Lows will drop a bit further down into the mid to upper 20s. Monday will be a bit breezy with a north wind but also partly sunny and cold in the mid to upper 30s. Monday night will be a night for concern as temperatures drop into the upper 10s which could refreeze any daytime melting water from the snow.
Tuesday will consist of sunny skies and milder readings in the upper 30s to low 40s. Wednesday will be mostly sunny and seasonable in the mid 40s. The plentiful sunshine continues into Thursday, highs drop slightly into the low 40s.
Friday will be partly sunny with isolated showers, as readings soar into the upper 40s. Saturday will likely consist of mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers, as temperatures climb into the low 50s.
