Tech boys hold off a late Smyrna comeback for 10th win of the season

GEORGETOWN, Del- With four players in double digits including 18 from Devon Reynolds, the Sussex Tech boys defeated Smyrna 67-54. The win gives Tech their 10th win on the year as the loss drops the Eagles to 6-9.

From the opening tip off Tech had the lead behind a three from Reynolds and then four more points from the field to give the Ravens the 15-12 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Ravens would start to pull away going into the half up 9. Ja’Shaun Johnson led all scorers for the Ravens with 11 first half points. Nashon Sylvester and Izaiah Credel led the Eagles with 7.

The second half would be a bit closer as the Eagles would come within 8 in the fourth quarter behind a game high 24 points from Nashon Sylvester but it just wasn’t enough. Sussex Tech gets the 67-54 win over the Eagles.

Sussex Tech will look for their eleventh win of the year when they take on Sussex Central this Thursday. Smyrna will try and get back in the win column when they take on Sallies this Friday at 7.
