Sussex Tech girls pull away late, defeat Polytech by 14

GEORGETOWN, Del- With four player in double digits, the Tech Ravens defeated the Polytech Panthers 60-46. The win lifts the Ravens to 9-3, the loss drops the Panthers to 7-5.

In a back and forth first half, the game would be tied at 24 going into the break. Poly’s Ya Ya Afriyie led all scorers at the half with 11 with Sussex Tech’s Arielle Parker at a close second with 9 points.

The Ravens would jump out to a 12 point lead early in the third with a nine point lead. The Panthers would cut the lead to three late in the fourth but the Ravens would end the game on a 18-5 run to beat Polytech 60-46.

Poly’s Courtney Turner led all scorers with a game high 18 points, Jazmin Kellam added 12 points and Afriyie chipped in 11 points in the loss. For the Ravens, Arielle Parker led the way with 16 points, paired with 15 from Janiya Stevens, and 12 from Sierra Troyer and Mi’Cah Shelton to get the win.
