Shoplifting spree leads to felony charges for Delaware duo

Wanted suspect found with drug paraphernalia behind bars

Rehoboth Beach, Del. – Two people are now facing multiple charges, including theft, after Delaware State Police responded to a shoplifting complaint at the Nike outlet store that led to a traffic stop.

According to the report at around, 11:30 A.M. troopers were investigating the complaint when they found a silver Oldsmobile Alero matching the description of the car used to commit the crime and began a traffic stop. Investigators discovered 32-year-old Donald L. Dailey Jr., the driver of the car, and his passenger was 27-year-old Ashley N. Cannon, both from Milford, each had active warrants for shoplifting. A search of the vehicle yielded stolen merchandise from the Nike outlet store as well as items from Tommy Hilfiger, Marshalls, and Adidas. Police also found drug paraphernalia on Cannon.  Both suspects were taken to Troop 7 and arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 2.

Dailey is being charged with felony organized retail theft, 3 counts of conspiracy third degree, and 5 counts of shoplifting under $1,500. He was released on $6,500 unsecured Bond.

Cannon, who is also facing felony possession of shoplifting tools and possession of drug paraphernalia charges in addition to the same charges as Dailey, was committed to the Dolores J. Women’s Correctional Institution on $7,000 secured bond.
