Salisbury men’s and women’s hoops sweep St. Mary’s (MD)
WOMEN
In their best defensive outing of the year, the Salisbury women’s basketball team coasted to a 53-25 win over visiting St. Mary’s.
The ‘Gulls forced 21 turnovers and forced the Seahawks to shoot just under 17% from the field.
Kaylyn French paced SU with 13 points, followed by Jada Welbon with 11.
MEN
Behind a hot shooting night from Gary Briddell, Salisbury men’s basketball snapped their three game skid, 97-77 against St. Mary’s.
Briddell, a Salisbury native, finished with 25 points, but his first-half performance have the Sea Gulls the push they needed. The Stephen Decatur graduate came off the bench, going 6-6 from three-point range, and scored 20 of his 25 in the first 20 minutes.
Blair Davis was close behind with a near triple-double, 21 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.
Both the men’s and women’s teams return home on January 30th to host Mary Washington.
